Letters to the Editor: May 2004

All charities are worthwhile

This letter specifically regards the “Jewish Mega-donors” story featured on pg. 1 of Vol. 45, #4, April 2004. After reading the article I was confused and dismayed by the reaction of Mr. Berofsky. To my understanding the article basically puts down those Jews who choose to make large contributions to organizations which don’t have specifically Jewish concerns at the forefront.

I find that appalling. Any person of any faith should be admired for being so charitable to those organizations mentioned in the article. Have I misunderstood this article? I would appreciate any enlightenment on this.

Sincerely
Aaron Winklebleck
